The Renowned Musician Encourages Support to Propel Together for Palestine Track to UK Christmas No 1.

A campaign is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The campaign seeks to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Possibility for Support and an "Surprise Victory"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it fails to, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“It has a very special place for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded after a solidarity show held in the autumn. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the performance was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.

The impressive roster of artists contributing to Lullaby includes a range of acclaimed names from the scene. All were part of the September show, which managed to collect a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was crafted by a group of music creators. The track blends a mix of the traditional Arabic lyrics with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the campaign have clarified that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a charitable pot. These donations will be allocated to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a figure explained. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The situation in the territory was described as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of property reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions won't make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is first of all making this cause better known and proving there’s another side to the story.”

The track is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the solidarity show will be made accessible to view on a digital service from mid-December.
