An eyewitness who observed the aftermath of a large-scale law enforcement action in the Brazilian city has recounted how residents came back with mutilated bodies of people who lost their lives.

The victims "continued arriving: 25, 30, 35, 40, 45...", the eyewitness reported. They included security forces.
