Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions
Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by Sunderland before the global break, but will the English top division leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of special visitors.
In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
Murs' latest album, the new release, is out on Friday.
Soccer and Parenting Experiences
Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football side," he said.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' only on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.
A family member told me to get Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had great success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always decent at home. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.
Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.
As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.
But I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
