Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to area administrators.

Moscow has increased attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in supplying protection systems and applying penalties," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets attacked the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks struck electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.
