Fresh Details Surface Regarding the Discovery of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Bodies
Fresh particulars have surfaced concerning the tragic demises of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.
The Initial Report
A source indicates referencing a person close to the family, a practitioner arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the home. The therapist then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.
Upon entering the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. It is said she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had gone with her promptly called 911. Following this, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Developments
Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, as well as the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is now being held and is ineligible for bail.
Correcting the Record
The confidential informant also disputed several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the property, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.
The source also refuted circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. Instead the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction also extends to accounts of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. Although the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "major confrontation" between the two were inaccurate.
Ongoing Inquiry Details
According to law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts indicated the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a period of time.
Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would be unable to attend until no sooner than Wednesday.
